Description

The listing, OAK LEAF HYDRANGEAS has ended.

Bush type plant
large flowers
6-8 ft. , Hardy zones 5-9
white/pink blooms

MORNING SHADE AND AFTERNOON SUN

Sow seeds in rows. Keep moist and cover flat with plastic, glass, or fiberglass. Keep moist. Seeds should germinate in 15 to 21 days. Remove cover.

After seeds have germinated, feed with 1/2 strength liquid feed such as Peters or Miracle Grow.

They should be transplanted about one month after germination into 4" pots. Top feed with osmocote (a pinch) for each pot. Keep watered in June and July.

Plants can be pinched (remove the tips) about August 1st. This gives the plants time to flush a new growth that will actually set buds and flower the following year.

about 500 or so seeds..they are small and I want to make sure you get enough to share with others.

It is getting close to Christmas and some of my friends and myself do a seed Christmas card exchange.... This would be a wonderful seed to include if you would like to try that. Just a thought. Happy bidding

From how I usually do all my cuttings. I cut the strong stem (new growth from this year that start to firm up but not woody) about 6-8" long. Make sure where you cut is under the node (node = where the leaf form, the knuckle along the stem). Leave about 2-4 leaves on the tip of the stem and strip the rest of the leaves on the bottom of the stem so , when you stick the stem in the dirt to grow the leaf does not get bury in the dirt and cause the stem to rot. I look for nice healthy stem that is plump and about a pencil thickness or even a little bit bigger because a smaller stem tend to bend and wilt easily when you transplant them at first. I would love to get cuttings from you so, if you are willing to do some cuttings I might have something to trade with you in return (message me for the trade).
