Questions & Comments
I find it really funny that there are ppl complaining saying... "it's not $10...it's more like $50!!!" Really ppl..? I'd LOVE to know when anybody could find a HP for $50..?? No matter how old.. Oh' and let's not forget the complaints becuz there isn't free shipping on a $500 computer that might cost $50-75 to fix..??. Sorry but geezzz.
...I'd REALLY like to know what model this HP is...please..:) It should say it on the stickers somewhere... If you just look at the stickers on the bottom of the computer and get as much info/numbers as you can and post it on here that would be a huge help & make alot of difference bid wise I'm sure! :) There is only 2 HRS left and I would LOVE to bid but even if its a cheap fix I'm very hesitant to bid without knowing some spec info.. THAX!
Just checking on ebay and depending on type of motherboardif that one is broken and in all probability is the price range is #) bucks to !%) bucks depending on model and whether its intel or amd
the charger port to fix is way more than $10 unless you know how to fix it yourself which involves using a solder gun and if you take it to someone it costs over $50. I had this laptop and the same thing happened so i just bought a new comp
I need A Xstra comp. I have an HP already not working if compat. I maybe able to fix mine up too. Would be good to know what kind of HP it was. Privillion? or what?
I run a small computer repair shop and I see this type of problem quite often. If the computer was dropped while plugged in then it is entirely possible for the charging connector to have broken.
It is only a $10 fix if you can resolder a new connector in yourself and that is assuming that the motherboard didn't break as well. If the board broke, you are looking at at least another $50 - $125 and if you have a technician do the work add another $75 - $125 to that cost.
Nothing is broke it wasn't dead when he dropped it and we turned it on everything worked fine we ran it out of battery and the charger part is broken not much to get a new one
the "charger port" in which u speak is located in the top corner of the laptop, and it is an internal port.. making it unlikely to "break" at least in that fashion.. if this laptop was dropped i would be more worried about the hard drive than anything.. ofc theres always a chance the LCD screen has been broken in one way or another..
either way i dont see this bing a 10 dollar fix unless u just so happen to have 1-2 of these sitting around waiting to be used as parts..
just my 2 cents.. not like i build and repair older computers for fun or anything ;)
