Description

The listing, A HILO DOLLAR MINI LAUHALA GIFT BASKET has ended.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION:
THIS GIVE-AWAY AUCTION IS FOR A MINI HAWAIIAN HAND WOVEN BASKET (LAUHALA)(LONG-SIDED).
THIS BASKET IS FRESHLY WOVEN WITH TIGHT WEBBING, NO OPEN SEAMS
IT INCLUDES SEVERAL COLLECTABLE ITEMS (HAWAIIANA):

1. HILO DOLLAR NO DATE - THE BIG ISLE-ALOHA HILO 7262C
DESCRIPTION:
State of Hawaii Aloha Hilo Dollar Token. It is in mint condition and the size of an old silver dollar (approx. 40mm). Color; Gold tone. Reeded edge. Nice mint souvenir token with a picture of Queen Liliuokalani (1838-1917) on the front and on the reverse is volcanoes Mauna Kea & Mauna Loa + the Queen’s Garden. As a gesture of the Big Island Aloha Spirit, this was originally given out by the lsland of Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, back in the early 1970’s. Not particularly rare (check ebay) BUT rare if you have one with the original cover & sleeve, which I am including.

2. SANFORD'S 27 AQUA BLUE 1890s ROUND INK BOTTLE
hand blown
hand tooled
double ring collar
round with 2 grooves around bottle
very pretty aqua blue-ish green
2 1/2"tall
excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
some light normal haze from being buried over 100 years.
Not Hawaiiana? Back in the late 70’s while laying a foundation to an addition
To our house, I was helping my father, it was more like watching, I spotted this shining object & ran to grab it. It was this ink bottle buried in Hawaiian soil Close enough for me.

3. USA Airmail 11c Scott # C84 MNH City Of Refuge Hawaii
A 1972 issued 11 cent United States Airmail postage stamp showing National Parks Centennial - City of Refuge, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, Hawaii-just to round out the collection.

Also including the bed of Hawaiian sea shells- Cowries, humpbacks, & screws.

Couple stock photos to get this up- I’ll post actual pics in a few hours.

ÅḺϴĦÅ ♥ I emailed you awhile back with another variation of this auction but I pulled it off, I had a hand made coconut (honu) of course but it had no interest- too manly I guess ツAnyway, glad to hear you are well again- yeah, slept right thru the "tsunami". Been busy with other auctions but I always go back to my roots ★

Reply to Carolyn283:Re: Writing tools- just trying something different,I use it in other sites and well so far 'they' havent flagged me yet, especially on my titles when I list. Re: Veterans, U R right, this day is like Memorial Day because of all the history (Punchbowl Cemetery, Pearl & Ford Island) & all the military bases on the edge of our shorelines. I grew up near a base, although my father was never military, he was there Dec 7th, with his hand gun firing at those zeros. 2 uncles, 2 cousins both fought & died in wars, so that's 4 gravesites @ Punchbowl we visit each year. & that's what it's all about- respect & honor those who gave their lives. With the blaring sun and heat- (but the tradewinds are blowing-(✝нαηḱ ḠϴÐ)-we wait for the sun to start setting, then we head out to Punchbowl, pretty special day for alot of us- so mahalo for remembering!

That is what Aloha is all about! Funny every Friend (Hawaiian) I ever went to Oahu with, all had Ohana buried at Punch Bowl, and each time we went to visit there, It's very much like Forest Lawn here in Los Angeles..So Sad but yet so Beautiful.yet..every time I was there 1 thing or another happened and I've never go on to the Arizona..Saving for when I come Home..What other things do you sell, by the way?? Mahalo :)
