This is a mixture of yarn, most of it looks vantage, the dark purple has a Red Heart "Wintuk" wrapper marked $.88 and is 2 ply 2oz. 100 % Orlon Acrylic Ametyst and is Coats and Clark's. The Dark green has the same markings except price and the color is Taddy Green. The dark blue one is Wintuk 4 ply Royal Blue 100% Monsanto Worsted Weight. The dark brown does not have a wrapper appears to big a little bigger roll and 4 ply. The lighter purple is Priced $1.29, Woolworth Woolco and is Lilac 4 oz. 4 ply. The lighter green is priced $1.47 is Leaf color 4 ply 4 oz. Sayelle. is 100% Orlon. The black one, is 100% acrylic 4 ply. and is Pop'N Yarn.

Any smoke smell or any musty odor?

I picked them up at a yard sale, thought I would use them but have to many irons in the fire so to speak, so decided to let some one else use them, I know they are machine washable, do not smell new but I don't know about the environment they came from sorry.

When I buy yarn this way, I take of the wrappers, put them in a pillow case, fasten it closed with safety pins and throw it in the washing machine. The skeins stay intact, and they come out smelling fresh and clean

That's a good idea, I know it has not been submitted to smoke at my house, but I don't want to say anything about it's previous home, because I just don't know and would not want to mislead any one. Thanks for the idea

Yes it was a really good idea, I am going to try it, I am always picking up stuff at yard sales, I should stay away, but I think I am addicted, get some really good deals though.

I use a net bag that I have for washing my hose, and such, so they don't get tangles I think it would work for yarn to, I just have so much yarn right now that I need to get rid of some of it. Thanks

I hear ya girl....But every single night (because I have so much yarn ...or not enough LOL) I crochet. Every 50 or more hats/berets/fingerless mittlens/scarves, I put aside for the Less Fortunate that Really appreciate the items.
Have a Large tall shelving unit I picked up on sale, that holds Most of my yarns (I like to organize by color, size, etc.)...anyone that knits and/or crochets understands. ;) Anyways....I do appreciate you offering these up for free **

I have to, I keep finding more that I just can't live without so the more I bring in and totes I buy to put them in, after a while I have no room for the totes, it's bad because I have not been doing this very long and I can not imagine what it is going to be like when I get good at it LOL
