The listing, Spools of Fun has ended.
This is a 1 1/3yd. cut of 44"wide cotton. Don't think I need to say much more- the cuteness speaks for itself! If anyone is interested in a larger or smaller cut just ask-I've got quite a bit more[as any proper hoarder would!] and would be happy to list it for you. Thanks for looking and good luck!!
Questions & Comments
Is it 100% cotton? I am looking for smaller pieces of fabric like this for I Spy quilts I would like to make for the Linus Project. Can use any type of object and 8x8 pcs or larger. Make other fun ones for them and get a lot of my material on Listia. F&W
First of all Bless You for making quilts for Project Linus-one of the finest quilt related {or anything else!} charities I've ever known! I encourage anyone who hasn't heard of them to check it out. I promise it will give you the very best kind of warm&fuzzy feeling! Yes it is 100% cotton-so says the selvedge. I'll dig around tomorrow& put together a layer cake package and list it. To answer the previous question it seems that I have 7yards still to spare. Thanks for stopping by!
It really is very cute! I've seen scattered spool fabric before, but none quite as cute as this. Fanned and Watching...hard to bid against Project Linus though
Ssshhhh little secret...check your local Goodwill, and Thrift/Resale shops. I've gotten some QUALITY fabric at ours. I not to long ago got a bed-in-a-bag full of awesome fabric to make my girls leggings and shirt/dresses for $5 at our local thrift shop (supports non-denominational youth center). There was a piece of legging quality stretch fabric in there that is about 9 yrds by 64" wide. Ohhh yeah, I've gotten tons of great remnants and yardage @ garage sales for very little $$$. See why hubby doesn't mind my addiction LOL
I LOVE thrift stores!!! I honest-to-God have not been to a mall in 12 years but I cannot & have not gone 12 days without hitting the resale shop-better known around our house as "Grandmas Happy Place"! My hubbo is the best kind of sport about it-he actually feeds my addiction, says it makes me a much happier person & so much more fun to be around! I managed to pass my addiction on to 2 out of 3 of our grown sons, the 3rd one is still in denial! It's just icing that they support such great causes, the closest one to my house supports a battered womens shelter.
I'll dig thru the stash tonight and measure it but off the top of my head I'm sure I have at least 3 more yards. I'll check for sure and get back to you. Thanks!!
Glad you found some more of this fabric. I would really like about 5 yards of it if we can work something out. I don't have a lot of credits and am building them up the time, but seems i see a pattern that I just can't live without and there they go again!!! lol
This is really pretty fabric. I agree with the feeling that you get when you make quilts for Linus--I make quilts for Linus, too!! I also have been making pillowcases for a children's hospital as well as for kids in a domestic violence shelter. If I can make a child smile with something I make when they are sick or scared because of their home life, I feel good and it then makes me smile too. :)
I couldn't agree more! Have you seen the pillowcase dress for African refugees that Nancy Zieman offered the FREE pattern for? My grand daughter just loved hers! I cannot believe how much fun I've had just making pillowcases! I never would have even guessed that one...
