Description

The listing, Rare Tomato ✽ CAPTAIN LUCKY ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic Artisan has ended.

Captain Lucky is a relatively new artisan tomato variety bred by Millard Murdock in North Carolina. If you want a rare and interesting tomato to impress your friends, this is the one! It is essentially a green-when-ripe tomato that has a bit of surface color and marbling on the blossom end. The large, juicy tomatoes are perfect for salads or to top a big burger. They were extremely prolific and withstood record heat and drought, as a true captain would! The flavor will amaze you.
Year of developement : 2010
History:
This unusual Green/Yellow/Pink tricolor potato leaf tomato came from an accidental cross between Lucky Cross and an unknown variety, and was stabilized by Millard Murdock of East Flat Rock, North Carolina (NC MU M).
First appeared in the Seed Savers 2011 Yearbook, co-listed by Susan Anderson of Elgin, Texas (TX AN S) and Millard Murdock of East Flat Rock, North Carolina (NC MU M).
I do not have many of these seeds left to give away.

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail. I only take Paypal for International bidders, I do combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring of 2012. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.

I run a business out of my home as well & need to stay in compliance with USPS. Any orders out of the U.S. are sent 1st class International in padded envelopes with tracking, custom forms, etc. all printed on-line. I've had difficulty with Canada in particular & had standard envelopes sent back. At least I can fit numerous seeds in one package to save you money. Sorry.
