beautiful in deed. what type of metal setting? gold or silver and is there any markings? watching.

When I bought the pendant, it was on a chain that was 18ct white gold. The chain got caught in my hair and I broke it, (boy was I mad!) but the pendant has no markings. I can't see a place that would be big enough to mark it. So I really don't know. I've had it for well over a year and the silver has not changed.
