Native Americans used Jewelweed to stop the itch and spread of poison ivy. This soap is freshly made from jewelweed picked in the remote Appalachian Mountains. I make this for my friends and family as well as myself and I make a very strong mixture. Unlike the commercial variety, mine is made with fresh plant material instead of tinctures and extracts. No perfumes, preservatives, dyes or chemicals are added. This is the pure form of jewelweed and glycerin soap. Native Americans used jewelweed for rashes including the relief from insect bites and stings, stinging nettle, poison oak, poison sumac etc
My friend and I are wildcrafters and spend 9 months out of a year in the wilds. We always carry a bar of soap with us in the event we make contact with ivy. I make small pocket sized bars that make it convenient to stash in your pocket for hiking. They are also handy to stash in your fishing tackle box, great for hunters and hikers, put one in your glove compartment or saddle bags for travel or keep one in a mason jar beside your outdoor water spiqot to wash with after gardening.
These make great stocking stuffers. A lot of landscapers and utility workers use this soap. We make some of the strongest and freshest on the market. You can't buy it like this elsewhere.
This auction is for three bars of this soap. Lets hope you dont have to use it, and be happy you have it if you do need it!

I can imagine teaching them was hours of entertainment. Animals always amaze me. I am forever finding bunnies;squirrels,and possums in my house with no idea how they got in and past all my resident 4 legged family members. I envy the teepee on ridge! you can buy plain glycerin based soaps at your local hobby shop. I buy mine at hobby lobby. This is what I use to make my soap, that way I can make it without any additives and put the strength of jewelweed I want in it.

yes I do, however, I am sending out the most of the stock I have left to the younguns over there in Iraq keeping us safe. I do have a little left and hope to make another batch soon.

well thank you kindly. I miss the days when we would pack a trash bag and a lighter then go on a three day tour, lol. I'd still be doing it but my buddy is getting lightweight. We still do get out and about a lot and will continue until we can't no more. I'd rather die in the mountains with all its beauty than to be in a sterile hospital invironment..

Amen to that. Im outside and in nature as much as possible. I love to explore and observe the wonders around us. I tend to collect plant and critters. I wish more times than not I could live as the indians in a simpler time. It sounds like you and your buddy have found a way to do that.

I think I could turn and live with the animals......You know, I was living in my teepee for awhile on them ridges we got here before I had my heart problems come up. Kids talked me into buying a "real" house. I got electricity and even running water now and a nice big old house that I abhore. What a mistake it was to do that. Took me awhile to teach the coons how to open the front door but they are managing.
