Questions & Comments
The railroad used to give these to their employees that had been there for so many years or when they retired. they are very nice pocket watches! broken or not it has value
thanks for your pleasant comment!!! I'm sure this one WAS nice.. It is very heavy and feels like a heavier matieral than the cheap ones....But don't know what it's made of,
melissaaldridge102 Please take your opinion to another auction. Why would you even make a comment like that when you obviously have no knowledge of this item. To put it simply - mind your own auctions and don't worry about mine....BLOCKED!! however, I left your comment so everyone can see how smart you are! lol
yea, okay, I'm sure it was exactly like this one, too....lmao what is with the newbies and this auction??? this auction reminds me of many years ago when my bff & I would go to a bar ---- If there was only one weirdo in the entire bar... he would make a mad dash straight to us....
Oh well, blocked .... I am not on Listia to have stupid conversations and make stupid remarks about other peoples' auctions.
Lovely watch case! I'm thinking it would make an interesting pill/medication box...and I'm trying to think of other uses for it. It's just too interesting to ignore! :)
yes alloy is heavy i noticed ppl are mean but some things like watches and watch parts are hard to trace or research less it has a maker mark this can also be a cool keepsake add glass and a family picture or trinket to remember
Wow - I am really wanting to keep it now!!! Waaaa - already have bids so I guess I will just have to find another one and use you're great ideas!!! Thanks!
I added some more pics with the tape measure...maybe you can tell from that if it would work for your watch....it looks like to me to be 1 3/8" from the inside across to the inside rim - center of watch.
I don't know if the the back pops off or not - sort of looks like it would but I don't know and I don't want to damage it... Hope this works for you. Thanks for looking.
hey can use it as a travel sowing kit thread buttons or put a mirror in top use bottome for mascare ex. or a man can use it in hunting small amo or fishing hooks and sinkers
Hi there! Yes, I am back from MD Anderson, Texas I will go back again in February for Surgery and testing. All is good though, I am doing well...
lol I have had 2 garage sales now and haven't sold the lamps! Actually the last one, I didn't make anything and the one before that I only made $17 I had crystal dishes, platters, punch bowl sets, collector glasses and I mean alot of very nice things...they were priced CHEAP too....well, I would have gone crazy if I went to a garage sale that had as much great finds as I had...but I guess it is just the time of year or something????I don't know. My friend and I (she is on Listia) are thinking of starting a little shop together .... I am about OVER LISTIA! There is too much drama and mean people! lol And, oh my, the amount of money I have spent on shipping I could have gone shopping and found plenty! Anyway, How are you? Getting ready for the Holidays? I have my garage in a mess pulling out all my Christmas stuff....My son is doing the lights this year cause I can't ... Happy Holidays my friend.
fyi the case is a alloy cast aluminum brass tequed its a brass like plating se the littl swirls insid thats a sighn it was high end not the cheap stuff the dog wood flowers on font and train represents southern [dixie] railroads probaly was gave by the upper amends as gift to the worker as a gift or coal mens service it is hard to say what maker but rail ways stopped the promotion gift watches in 1981 if you see the # 909 on the train driver compartment [i cant tell from picture ] the watch would be before 1965 but i think its a 65-81 presentation watch
wow, I am going to go check right now!! I should have found out before I listed!! I will be back on with info - have to run errand with my son. Thanks!
ok this looks like a walham brand 1850s-1970s [not walmart ) can you please measure across the cavity the watch would sit in please i have a walham watch that the case is messed up and looks alot like this thank you for posting
I think the people that have rude comments on this auction just want people to go look at their own auctions.... I have not had so many rude people comment until this auction (listed almost 300 auctions to date) oh well, if the person that wins this doesn't want it....FINE WITH ME....I will keep it and refund your credits....I wish I could lower the days and end the auction but I can't so 7 more days.....
Ya know bs5813, every time you block someone for simply answering questions that you cant is showing YOUR ignorance... not theirs. I haven't seen any 'rude' comments. People have asked about it, and every time someone answers... you block them. What's up with that?? Ok... you can block me now.
whatever mr. know it all ..... people that have made statements like it is from KMart and it's not vintage don't know what they are talking about and so I guess I will show my ignorance and BLOCK ANOTHER PERSON MAKING COMMENTS ABOUT MY AUCTION THAT THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT**** HAVE A NICE DAY****
that makes alot of sense.... lol you are blocked now too! if there were not already bids on it I would delete the auction....not worth all the nasty comments for sure!
I don't know much about it either..I was thinking of using it for a pill box or earings/jewelry when traveling? (It still closes, latches tight as it is now.)
