"Plants grow 12-36 inches tall and have an arching habit. They bloom in late summer and early fall with nice solid blue flowers. Best in well drained soils that are moisture retentive. Use in full sun to light shade around brushwood and grassy or open treed locations. Nice plants for the rock garden or front of the border, in the wild they are found in central and southern Europe in mountains above 1000 meters altitude and in grassy to semi wooded locations.
Zones (4) 5-9. Sow in pot and put in a large clear ziplock bag and keep outdoors in late summer or use 4 weeks at 68ºF then 4-6 months at 21ºF (below freezing), move to 53ºF for germination. Surface sow seeds, light needed for best results. Strong light has been know to over come the needed cold period. "
