The listing, **********EAGLE STAMP Savings Book********** has ended.
A by-gone era, do you remember the Eagle Stamp savings book. These were from the St. Louis area, where they were exchanged at the local "Famous Barr". There are 20 in all, some are completely filled, some are partially, most are empty. To you and me, they mean nothing more than an empty book, but to some they are memories of how people once were back in the 60's. These are circa 1963, a memory of when commercialization wasn't a problem that is now the back-bone of how major retail markets advertise to the public. This brings back the days of, at least in the St. Louis area, the ice wagon, paperboys on bikes, the good humor man pushing his ice cream wagon, and a day in which we slept with our front and back doors open in the summer to allow for the cool air of the night to cool our homes. If this brings memories of all of these times, then maybe these would just be a momentous to hold on too, when the nation was a gentler place, but also a time in which the nation cried, at the assignation of a beloved President of the United States of America. Own a piece of iconic history or just a personal memento that brought a smile or a mere kindness in your heart.
