I've been getting as much as 5000 credits for some of these seed alone, so this is a really good opportunity for all my friends out there begging for a little of everything.

Yesterday, my hiking partner marie called me. She had stumbled upon one of the biggest patches of ocoee fruit that we've seen yet. I had to go climb thru some mighty vicious briar patches, but we gathered over a hundred of them. I have so much fruit I feel like a fruitcake. These were mostly green or just turning, not like what I sent you, but sooooo good tasting. I'm glad you let me send you the fruit to see how it mailed anyway, and even more glad you've enjoyed it. Maybe next year , you'll have your own patch to pick. I have plenty of that particular seed now, haha, so let me know if you need more. It will be in fruit form,, lol..........

Now if I could just get the men to think I'm amazing........oh well. Truthfully, I'm a forager and not a good gardener at all. I will tell you what I know as far as planting is concerned but I'm not the best to rely upon that info. I can help you with the uses and give you some recipes and all. When I need these plants, I just mosey out back and pick some somewhere, no need to garden or grow them. The jewelweed is pretty easy to grow though, I did plant some of that. I go no where without my two dogs, Because of this, I miss out on a lot of events and travels and boyfriends, ha, which I'm really not missing out on anyway. I might give up a lot by sharing my life with them, but the trade off is more than worth it.

will see what next year brings - I will be sending some seeds to my granddaughters in Maine and Arizona to see if they'll grow for them too. The younger, in Maine, is wanting to make a huge flower bed so she's getting a bunch of seeds I've gotten off Listia. Have some planted and will sprout some indoors to see how they play out. Looks like you're having a blast on your adventures! :)

I don't set out for no adventure, but they often turn into one. I've gone out to just explore an hour or two and not made it back home for several days. Used to drive my husband crazy. When I look back on my life, it was the difficult times I remember the most.........with fond memories.......cause I made it.

Yes I do kinda miss out on a lot but my babies are worth it..dogs, cats, chickens, and goats. LOL and I quilt have my garden so I am pretty busy anyway..and if I do some how manage to win this I would love to have some of the fruit as I have never had any of it before. I did can and make my own jam. I am always open to new things....

Blackberry is the only "conventional" jelly I make. The rest is from fruit that most don't bother to collect. This year I've been working on perfecting my autumn olive jelly. It amazes me that this plant is so prolific, so full of licopene ( much more than tomatoes) and is being used in cancer research. You can buy them in Asian markets, but here, we try to eradicate them. Eating a few berries a day is to me better than pills or trying to eat tomato paste four times a week or more.

it's the dang delivery confirmation that kills me the most, plus this will cost me a little more than what I'm asking for shipping, however, if the bids go real high and you just cant manage the shipping I will do what I can. Golfcartgirl, I know where cantankerousoldlady lives and we can sneak up there one dark night and raid her pantry. She has all the good stuff hidden but I know where she hides it. Also, you never know what she has in her refrigerator either. She makes these really cute little chocolate covered cherry mouses you ever saw and cup cakes, and other stuff she hides. I'm in the telephone book in Tellico Plains, TN. Looks for the Morris numbers and look for one up here at Coker Creek. That's me and we can sneak up to her house and hope we don't get shot pillaging her refrigerator. She keeps a loaded shotgun by her bed but usually she's so out of it she can't find the shells.
