I honestly do not know since my kids do not own leapster explorer or leapster 2, I however added a stock photo of the system that it should be used for in pic #2. Please keep in mind that the system is NOT INCLUDED, only the game shown in pic #2

these games are not interchangable with leapster or leapster 2 systems i have the leapster 2 for my 5 yr old but they are interchangable with leappad. hope this helps. great auction watching and waiting to bid could use this for my 6 yr old son
