.925 is usually sterling silver ... not 100% but .925 stering filled w/.75 of another metal for durability. Most ALL sterling silver items made today arenot 100% solid. Older/antique items actually are stamed.marked w/ the actual word sterling on them or inside a ring. Alot of sterling silver plated or filled jewelry these days are stamped .925 as well.
