how do these grow? are they a vine?

Yes, they are a vine. you have to scarify the seed outercoat as the seeds are very hard, and can also soak them in water for 24 hs to soften the seedcoat. they are poisonous. some people say they are not and cook them to eat but i personally wouldnt. i type lg caps due to eyesight issues. they grow beautifully up and around a fencepost or any kind of pole and are purple in color. will produce long seedpods inj the fall.
