Hi. Thanks for looking at my listing. As far as I know, yes you have to have a smartphone because it plugs into your phone's headphone jack. Second, as far as the fees, I'm not sure of the current fee plan because I'm currently using PayPal's reader.

Lastly, as with anything on Listia, there are items that people post on here that can be obtained for free elsewhere. The whole point of this site is to get rid of stuff you no longer need/want/use to get stuff that you do need/want. I'm merely parting with something that I don't need to get something that I want.

ahh ok.... tht last part was meant to be more of a question then a statement... ive been thinking about getting a card reader but they are rarely listed on here... guess ill jus go hunt down the info myself to see which one i want. thanks anyways! good luck!

Well the best one in my experience has been PayPal's and Square. I used Square for about a year and a half for my business and it was great. It was easy to use and set up, the money transferred into your bank account in two days tops, and was the equipment wasn't that bad. I transferred to PayPal's because the payments went INSTANTLY to my PayPal account. Both also has reasonable fees.
