The listing, Dungeons & Dragons - adventure booster has ended.
Dead Man's Cove 16-page pamphlet-style adventures in AEG's Adventure Booster series for 3rd Edition D&D. The series is 11 inches high, but only 4.25 inches wide with a map printed in the center. This one is for PC levels 4-6. But any GOOD DM would know how to adjust it for their campaign.
Dead Man's Cove starts with the characters being hired to thwart a wily band of pirates. While AEG manages to fit a surprising amount of information and detail into the series, there's always room for a DM's creativity, which makes them very adaptable to any setting or situation the DM wishes to spring.
There's a nice rounding mix of combat and tactics required, as well as a few interesting roleplaying opportunities. Gung-Ho hack-n-slashers will need to practice a little negotiation to avoid more then a few pitfalls.
As is promised in each of this series, there is a new monster and magic item, both of which are appropriate and very well done. AEG has a fine grasp of the d20 rules system and provides all appropriate stat blocks and game information.
As far as rewards go, you expect pirate booty aplenty, but some of the rewards did seem a little high for a party of 4-6th level characters to find, but I'm sure it's expected a DM can match the treasure to his group.
The layout is uninteresting but practical, although a few justification and typo errors are present. The map is simple, clear, and functional. This is fine fare for a RPG product that gets you a full night's play Definitely worth the credits.
