Questions & Comments
And you can't buy just the LCD portion so this is worthless
The back housing is simple: there are two pentalobe screws on the bottom of the mid-frame bezel on either side of the charging port and once you have taken them out all you have to do is slide the cover up and it falls right off.
The front is a bit more rigorous if you are not patient and have a strong tolerance for microscopic screws. It can be done by an amateur though. You would have to remove the battery, then the sim card, the logic board, the charging dock with sound, the vibrator, and the four corner screws. Then you will need to loosen the 6 screws that hold the bezel in place because it's easier if you do not remove them entirely; they are a pain in the a#@. You will need something to pry the glass away from the glue between it and the mid-frame and when lifting it out you much be careful not to rip the LCD and touch screen ribbons. Once you have done it at least once it will be cake. YouTube videos will tell you to get a map for the screws, but most of them only fit in one place. I have done it so many times that I can mostly just look at them and figure out where they belong. It sounds scary but it really isn't that hard, especially when you consider how much a "professional" would charge you to do something that is completely within your capabilities. The first time I took apart an iPhone 4 I tore the power button flex cable by accident, so you should pay more attention than I did. :)
Thank you sorry about earlier comment I bought a red one the didn't come with the LCD about four months ago and couldn't find just the LCD itself so I lost out on $60 for the glass
