They are very thin sticky strips than can be used on natural or fake nails. The way I use them on my toes is paint the nail say silver. Then I put the tape on it & make a design. Then paint over it with purple. When I pull the tape off (letting each layer dry first) the nails are purple with a silver design. But the tape can be used as the design itself without adding a second coat. Hope this helps. Also you can Bing "nail art tape" images & it will show you examples as well. Good luck.
