This is a rare discontinued item. The AquaClear Mini. All parts are 100% Compatable with the AquaClear 20. The only Difference is that the case and parts are a clear light brown and the new is a smoked grayish/black. I upgraded to a bigger tank but this has ran perfect for over 3 years and not one problem. Its easy to clean and maintain.

This is how easy it is to clean: once a month, only need to replace the Carbon insert once a month and rinse out the ammonia bag (top) and rinse out the sponge (bottom) in aquarium water, (warning: if you have a over populated tank the motor might stop spinning the propeller, in that case take it apart, clean...Waalaa!)

Its missing one part. Its the drop down tube that goes further into the water. One day while cleaning the dog thought it was a stick. So i used a Silicone Hose With a screen on it (large enough to let all the stuff in but not the fish cause it will suck up a full sized guppy)

I run a 55 and 75 gallon freshwater Cichlid tanks and thats all i use is aquaclear. Very good and dependable. Had a bad storm power went out for a long time. was not home when it came back on. 4hrs later I return and the pumps are on but dry. added water and still working.This would be great to add to my 20 galllon tank I am giving away as a gift...F&W

Thank you and fanned back. I used to have 2 20 gal tanks and I went threw 3 different filter systems within 2 years and aquaclear hasnt done me wrong me wrong for over 4. Its amazing how this simple system is so great, wish i knew what i do now lol!.

There is a pic that shows the pieces, but the only thing its missing is, The Drop down tube cause the dog chewed it up (U can use a silicone hose with a screen), the sponge (collects the unwanted stuff and stores the beneficial bacteria) the Carbon Insert (Takes the impurities out of the water) And the ammonia pouch (Self explained). The last 3 are always best new when introducing a new filter to your aquar, This is for salt and fresh water.

I forgot to mention If you need step by step instructions on how to maintain this i can make either a video or a document with pics...your choice. but it will take me about a little extra to get that if you would like. Im a enthusiast and i would be glad to help out.
