The listing, Vintage miniature case - 18th century art reproduction? has ended.

This is a miniature snap-shut case. Not sure what it's for exactly. It features a reproduction of what looks to be an 18th Century painting of a couple dancing. I'm not sure the artist (possibly Fragonard?).

Item is hard material like an enameled metal.

Case is in so-so condition - some cracking along hinge and cosmetic imperfections due to age. Exact age unknown but I would consider it vintage, possibly antique.

It's about 2.25 inch wide by 3 inch tall.

You're right-it is too small for a cigarette case, but it sure looks like one on the inside.
