The listing, Learn to Knit by Coats & Clark book no. 190 has ended.

(c) 1968 - 35 pages

"In this book, we show the four basic steps of knitting...how to cast on, to knit, to purl, to bind off. Once you have mastered these simple procedures, you're off and running...all the other steps only evolve from the motions you have already learned. Choose a small item for your first project...it will be good practice, and you'll be delighted at how soon you will complete the piece. As you become more confident, choose larger projects until you achieve a sweater...or cardigan... or skirt! Eac h set of directions tells you what needles and yarn you need, and the amount you should buy (it's important to buy all the yarn for a project at one time, being sure all the dye-lot numbers are the same).
Now...pick up your needles and yarn... read the instruction carefully...study the diagrams...and Happy Knitting to You!"

INCLUDED WITH BOOK from seller:

*1 pair Boye aluminum knitting needles Size 8 (your choice of either silver or green) - Most commonly used size in the pattern section (throw pillow, kilt/skirt, pea cap)

Are the needles long or short? I mean, are they 14 inches or are they 10 inches? Thanks for listing this and especially for the free shipping! I really appreciate it! :)

This is a good basic book. I still have the one I bought in 1968 when I was first learning to knit.

rotfl! That is hysterical. It is amazing when we teach our children something that we enjoy and then watch them go far beyond what we ourselves were doing! My daughter did that many times with many things. It made me so proud of her, but if I am truthful, a little jealous that she was able to take it further.
