The library is cardboard and the books are paper. These were a promo by Hershey's. I picked up one at a yard sale and hopped on ebay to get the whole set. I kept my yard sale one and am selling the mint set I got online. They were kept in storage after I got them, still in the envelope the first owner got it in with a packing slip from Hershey.
