I have not opened it. I know that the flashlight part does work because you can use the crank and the light comes on.

Okay.. I opened one up (you will be bidding on a sealed one) It says 2-3 mins of cranking will give 5-10 mins of talk time (results vary by phone). It is basically a hand charger. The unit does not "hold" a charge..it creates a current to fill your phone. It has a flashlight with two setting low (one bulb) and High (three bulbs) It is a hand powered flashlight.. you turn.. you have light. It requires only a gentle turning to provide light. It is for an Emergency.
