They still are really cool, I think! These are stamps of Ireland, first issued on June 30, 1944 to celebrate the 300th Anniversary of the death of Ireland's major historian, Father Michael O'Cleary. The emerald, 1/2 Pence, is #128 and the the reddish-brown, 1 Shilling is #129. Notice that the design of the stamp features the kind of hand calligraphy he used to write that history with quill pen and ink on parchment -- what a formidable task of a lifetime! Good Luck!
