Zero Ammonia/Ultra conditioning for natural looking color

Created by Henri Mastey, Teinture, the first Tri-Base ammonia-free permanent hair color, has become the new choice of client-conscious colorists worldwide. Mastey de Paris is a manufacturer of professional hair products located in Valencia California. I worked for the company for several years but had to leave my position because of a consciousness objection to their predatory tactics, particularly regarding their Teinture hair color product.

During the time I was working for the company, Teinture was launched. In many meetings we were told that we were by no means ever allowed to admit to the public that the Teinture included very high amounts of Diethanolamine (a much more toxic and carcinogenic form of methanolamine or MEA), p-phenylenediamine (PPD’s), and trace amounts of ammonia. The company, especially Henri Mastey, was committed to marketing the product as the world’s first “Zero-Ammonia, PPD and MEA free hair color”. Unfortunately, their greed for profit drove them to create a dangerous product that will most certainly cause accumulated liver toxicity, cancer, corneal necrosis, and severe irreparable respiratory damage.

Although I should hide these comments because they provide unsubstantiated information from a (possible) former employee, I feel that everyone is entitled to their opinion.

First, let me say the following: I have no first-hand knowledge of how the product is made. I have at my disposal the same information about the ingredients of Teinture that the public does via their packaging and their website. That being said, my experience with Mastey products dates back to the late 80's and I have heard/known only good things about the products - Teinture included. Does the product work to the satisfaction of customers? It must or else no one would buy it. Does it contain ingredients that aren't listed on its label because the FDA doesn't require it to be? Probably. But what product doesn't? (Continued)

It is up to the individual to do his/her due diligence when purchasing a product that they may be interested in or possibly unsure of. There's going to be pro's and con's to everything and just as many complaints about a product as there are accolades. Deciphering all of this information and making an informed decision certainly seems insurmountable and most definitely frustrating, but this is the world we live in. Most people are intelligent enough to not believe everything they read - both in advertising and on scam forums. Just because someone makes a claim about a product, doesn't make it true. Just because a product manufacturer makes a claim about a product doesn't make it true either. It does, however, make it actionable and if Teinture was so detrimental to ones health and so deceptive in their claims, after more than 25 years of production some sort of investigation/shut down would have come from it - I would think.

This is, in my opinion, a no win situation. You make claims based on your inside knowledge of the company and the product. I write auction descriptions based on the information available to me, the feedback from customers and 25 years of experience with the product. Anyone who bids on this, needs to look at all sides and make as an informed decision as they can.
