are these plastic? what is it basically used for.

Well gimp are rubbery plastic flat strands of a variety of colors that you can braid different ways into different things. For example, I can make a accessory for my keychain using the box stitch, or a bracelet using the weaving method. It's just a really cool craft that you can do anytime on the go, and it's just a way to cut time and is also a great way to give a handcrafted gift to anyone anytime. It takes a while to learn some of the stitches, but good thing there's the internet. If you do try out gimp for the first time I suggest learning the Chinese staircase first. I'll try to upload some more pics to give you an idea of the wonderful items you can make with gimp:) Good luck!

All the colors of the rainbow, purple, Auqa, many shades of many colors if you have a preference just let me know I have a whole box full of the stuff.
