I've never tried to mount it . It was a gift and it's been in a drawer until I was cleaning the drawer I had forgotten I had it. I pull it out and put batteries in it, to make sure it work, and didn't even take them out. I just took pictures, and when stjimmyarmstong bid on it, I boxed it to get ready to ship. But if it's like you say most folk could figger something out.
