on the band it is stamped silver-that is all it says on the inside band---i have no idea what kind of stone this is--it looks black but looks purple in the light--it has sparkly things all in it--they really sparkle and shine when in direct light or sunlight--this was my mothers ring and i know for a fact it is no less than 45 years old--it was passed down to me in 2005--it has sat in my jewelry box since..i hate to see it sitting in a box when someone could be wearing it and its beauty to be viewed by others--so i hope whomever wins this piece will enjoy it as i know my mother did--thanks for looking and good luck if you are bidding,,,,

If the stone has golden specks in it and is a dark blue,it is more than likely Lapis Lazulu.
