I am. my mom instilled on me the importance of antiques and history and I've been a treasure hunter ever since I was a kid. my prize possession is a stack of 16th century leather law books that were turned into a hidden decanter set with the original blown lead crystal glass main stays and 4 shot glasses. :)
Wow what a collection! I have been collecting some coins also and I have found error coins that are pretty cool. I have none that are worth a whole bunch but I do want to get them certified. You have some nice coins.
During the European colonial period, the Dutch (Netherlands) established the Dutch East India Company (VOC) and became the dominant European power in Indonesia. Following bankruptcy, the VOC was formally dissolved in 1800, and the government of the Netherlands established the Dutch East Indies as a nationalized colony. They issued decimal coinage from 1833 to 1840 in 1 cent and 2 cents denominations.
The coin on the left is a coin of the United East India Company (VOC), the Dutch government conglomerate that managed the Netherlands East Indies, now Indonesia. It is a copper Duit (cent) if it is 20 millimeters in diameter. The two lions holding the shield are the coat of arms of the Dutch province of Utrecht.
The coin on the right is after he government of the Netherlands established the Dutch East Indies as a nationalized colony. It is a one cent denomination.
