UNIT HISTORY

It belonged to a friend and we were told it was working fine and all of a sudden shut down and would not boot back up ..... My husband got it to boot to the Compaq screen, but it stays on it for a minute or so and then says "No IDE Device found" ...... It boots into BIOS fine and I tried to run the self diagnostics, but it says the same thing ...... We tested it with a new HD, but it made no difference ...... It has a sticker on the palmrest that says Windows Vista and the key code sticker is clearly visible on the back ..... Battery is included and the charge light comes on. I just cannot guarantee the life of it since it will not boot to the desktop ..... The AC Adapter is a replacement, since the previous owner lost his.

Sorry, the pictures are not as good as I had hoped. There is nothing wrong with the screen, it is just a reflection of the flash.

Shipping is free, and if you have any questions fee free to ask, but allow 48 hrs for me to answer.

Outstanding...Thanks

I've often pondered why auction sites like Listia do not require @ suggest that sellers provide the items S/N#, rather than utilizing a user ID sign (Listia) to prove physical possession.

If they give a bogus S/N number, the manufacturer will affirm that fact upon checking for the units parts specs.. 9 times out of 10 the S/N will be accessible to the physical possessor, be they owner or thief.

I've encountered 3 of the latter in my auction endeavors, (not that that was my intended reason for requesting yours).

That matches the proper output needed.

One last piece of data I need to properly bid, if you don't mind?
The tag on the bottom of your unit has two numbers I need to determine if I have the specific parts I'll need to repair the unit in inventory, or will need to purchase them. (Of course I'm assuming that you will be including the original HDD?)

If you could provide the Product Part # & Serial # on that label I can then access each part installed in your specific unit, and will not need to trouble you any further before preparing my bid. I do sincerely thank you for your patience in these regards. F&W

No problem, I probably should have put it in the description anyway:)

It says: s/n CNF8102JCC and p/n KC493UA#ABA

And yes, I will make sure that the original HD is included.

Sibusa is the name ... Input: AC100-240V, 1.2A, 50/60hz ... Output: 18.5V, 3.5A ... That's all it says

I have got the same laptop and mine is doing pretty much the same thing. Went to the HP website forum and many many others are complaining of the same thing. The suggestions that HP is giving don't work. Possibly a bad motherboard. But I will be watching and possibly bidding.

Not sure, but I think my husband put the original one back in. No, only that HD will be included.

Sounds like a connector or Motherboard issue. Unless both HDD's were failing. Were both the HDD's making a clicking noise?
Jan 15th, 2013 at 2:54:31 AM PST by
Original
Nope, neither one made noises.

Anyway, it would be a great part machine, since it looks like a connector problem, and these are usually soldered to the MOBO, but as every laptop for repair I am sure this one has enough good parts to be used. :) Nice auction!
