The markers open and close for you to use for counting rows, stitch change, yarn change, super great for cables or patterns, no more counting, no more losing your place when u put work down, .. the ones you get in stores do not open, they are only good for knitting
these are markers, not stitch holders. if you want to mark a spot on pattern, open marker put it on stitch, close marker
