A lot of people say Chucky was based off of the my buddy doll. What most people don't know is that the very first Child's Play movie was made before my buddy was.

Actually My Buddy came out in 1985 and the first Chucky Movie did not come out until 1988. But not sure if there is any direct correlation but definitely reminds me of Chucky.
