Forgotten Japanese Paper Diorama - Tatebanko is a forgotten Japanese art of creating amazing dioramas and scenic perspective from paper.

Tatebanko was popular and widely admired from the edo period (17th century) to the early 20th century, and then it all but disappeared. This beautiful simple Japanese art has now been revived and preserved whilst interpreting it for our times.

This is a paper craft kit suitable for ages 12+. Printed in Japan. Measures 11-11/16” wide X 8-1/4” high. Part of the kit includes a faux paper frame that I presume tells about the artist Munch and his famous painting and which is written in Japanese.

The Scream - This world famous masterpiece represents symbolic themes of isolation, fear and death.
