Description
The listing, 49-strand Accuflex beading wire (10 feet) has ended.
This auction is for 10 feet (1/3 spool) of 49-strand Accuflex (.24 mm, "classic" color).
This is the premium strength and "softest drape" of Accuflex, with 49 strands in the single thread of wire. Accuflex sells less-expensive wire (for example 7-strand, 19-strand, etc.) but those have more tendency to "kink," and aren't as strong.
Questions & Comments
Going to stalk this auction. This wire was recommended to me by a friend who beads.
BigMamaMiranda: If you do a lot of work with tiny (TINY!) beads, make sure your friend was suggesting the .24 strength that is being sold here. Acuflex 49-strand comes in different thicknesses. It's not that the wire is "thick," but if you want to crimp it and run it twice through... a pearl, for instance, it might not work. I have a lot of it, though, and love it! Ruth
@Raseymour - I use seed beads, as well as small clay beads and little decorative charms, but this auction has already been lost to me. I have less than 500 credits, and my auctions aren't going to end soon enough for me to get enough to bid on this. =(
BigMamaMiranda... I used seed beads in my work and if you are using the delicas or dynamites this wire will work but if you are using Czech seed beads beads or other smaller hole seed beads then this wire is too thick. I use this wire when I am making "stright" beaded bracelets or necklaces, but it will not work with weaving such as brick, peyote, or such. This is great wire for bracelet and necklace making it has a great "hang" to it!
Thanks for describing it more! I totally agree. I love the drape of it, and only run into problems if I place a super-small-hole bead right next to the crimp, and want to double the wire through. Otherwise, it behaves like the expensive beading wire that it is... hardly ever kinking and being light-weight but strong, at the same time, for heavier or bigger beads. Thanks BigMamaMiranda! Ruth
