Originally part of a bracelet, which I was told was popular in the early 20th century, but during hard times the bracelet was taken apart to buy things. I was also told coins with holes drilled through versus saudered together with links were older. Either way, holding a coin that is nearly 100 years old is pretty cool!

Oh I am sure...I made a penny bracelet in metal works in highschool so I am sure it could be done. I think they actually sell bezle sets to hold coins in craft stores.
