Heirloom Homestead is a red fruited tomato that sets fruit well under high temperatures and is uniform in size. A very good tomato for the southern gardener as it produces well in the heat.

Semi-determinate, 80-83 days.

Vigorous plant which offers good fruit protection. Tomatoes weighing 7-8 ounces. Make it a perfect tomato for canning

Plant produces good yields of flavorful 8 oz red tomatoes. Excellent for salads, sandwiches, and canning.

Any advice on sun/ shade ratio? Last summer's heat fried my tomato plants in full sun

I plant mine on the south east side of my home. The plants get late morning sun and receive at max 7 hours of full sun each day. I also deep water 2 times per week. You might try using a shade cloth too. use no more than 10% shade reduction. I have also used opague plastic sold at Home Depot, make a lein-too of sort. Hope this helps.
