Questions & Comments
I have made several and starting to make them more often since its to cold to do anything outdoors here... I just finished today an OU and Zebra "rag quilt" that I have been working on for a friend of mine that's having a baby girl. It's my second "rag quilt" ever and turned out SO CUTE !
To finish you have the quilt top then middle layer of quilt batting and then a backing layer .You join the layers together by stitching through all layers all over the the quilt either by hand., by sewing machine ,or you can by yarn knots in any pattern you choose. The edges can be finished by folding over the raw edges to have a clean one and the sown or you can add a binding to the edges. Perhaps you can find a quilting class in your area to help you .Or you tube probably has tutorials on there also. Hope this helps some. Good luck and happy sewing♥
Yes, I think hand sowing would add to the authenticity of the quilt and it's value. That personal touch ,time and love you put into a quilt is what makes it so special♥
I have loved crafting, sewing, and quilting since I was about 18-19 yrs old. I believe it is an ART. Good stress relief therapy too. ;) The "rag quilt" is a pain to clean up when it's finished and you start the washing and drying process. LOL
This is just beautiful! Until I learn or have someone who can help me finish it?! Can it, in the meantime be put over a blanket on a bed? Or should the winner wait until it is finished? Thanks, obviously I don't sew well, and don't know anything about quilting:( thanks
