Giovan paol Maggini brefcia 16/7 is what ID is inside. Case has violet velvet that shows age, Bow has abalone shell on it. ( I was once told the bow is more valuable than violin). There is two extra new strings "G" and 'E", two pitch pipes, 3 resins. violin has some wear. It was played by my uncle Everrett Massey in Hollywood Ca. I have new bridge but it may need some whittling to fit. I am sure a student could get experience while learning to play. I take paypal or money order for postage.

I worked at(selmer of elkhart in.) nearly 35 years & can only test a flute or clairnet,never could really play anything & my brother could play anything he picked up. not fair lol.

My ex husband worked at EK Blssings over 30... I played in all city orchestra in 48_52. Then we moved to jimtown where there was no orchestra...sang in Elkhart church and syphony chorus many years. I am 72. Pat Willey Reitz. Do you know me? My husband. Trained a lot who ended up at selmer's. Who is your brother?

Hi again,Giovan was born 1855 & died in 1930 and according to internet never dated his violins there are hundreds of copys & some in playing condition quite valueable made in Italy,Germany & other countrys i forgot half of what i read lol. sorry.

I wish they hadn't cropped my photo I'm in th e office where I live I may try to change it today. I took swimming lessons years ago from a Borneman...at Elkhart Park. Still donn't swim well even tho I had a pool for 12 years.

What an awesome auction & love the story behind this violin! My daughter plays & I would love to bid on this but we're in the middle of moving :( & I really don't want things to get lost in the shuffle. If you need a box for shipping, some of your local music stores may have boxes that will fit this. I just received a rental violin shipped in a box. Good luck!
