Description

The listing, Newsprint/Newspaper Nails **No Credits Required** has ended.

No credits required! Here are the FREE instructions for Newspaper Nails! Something you can easily find if you just Google it :)

I'm listing this only because it annoys me to see other's post this auctions requiring your bid when it shouldn't. This isn't a hard to find tutorial at all.

Materials Need--
Light colored nail polish
Rubbing Alcohol
Small bowl (or lid to alcohol)
Strips of newspaper to fit nails

Directions--

1. Pick a light colored nail polish (light grey/silver, light pink, pearl, white, etc--just make sure it's a light color!). Paint nails as you normally would (if you use a top coat before the color, go for it, but it's not needed). Allow to FULLY dry.

2. Dip finger into rubbing alcohol for 5-10 seconds. Be sure to pour the alcohol into a dish or lid. Don't dip it straight into the bottle :) Also, if you have a cut around your fingers, I suggest letting it heal before you do this. Alcohol burns! (one finger at a time! So dip, soak, move to next step BEFORE dipping the next finger)

3. Firmly press newspaper strip to nail. Hold in place for approximately 10 seconds. Slowly peel paper off nail.

4. Finish with a clear top coat to add shine and keep the newsprint on your nail (you must do this step, otherwise the print will wash away)

Now go show off your awesome looking nails!

**Do me a favor. Please add this auction to your watch list! For some reason, I still don't have my 30 watchers badge (even though I recently had an auction with over 30 watchers). If it shows more than 30 watchers, keeping watching. Maybe I can reach 100 watchers!**

I get annoyed when people offer recipes, or even cheat codes. Great Idea! Just dropping in to help out a fellow watcher auction. Good Luck! Fanned and watching! Please come check out my watcher auction! :-) Thanks!

I figure if I can find the DIY/tutorial on the first page of Google, it doesn't belong on Listia as a secret. It is driving me nuts to see all DIY auctions that aren't so secret. And then want to laugh when I see people are actually bidding on them!

Think I fanned you back. If not, I will do it! Thanks for stopping by and watching ;)

You're welcome :) I don't typically paint my nails but thought this looked awesome. I tried it on my toes too (hehe) and it turned out cute. But I didn't dip my toes ROFL. I soaked a cotton ball in alcohol and sat it on each toenail for 10 seconds. Worked great (I had alcohol dripping a little, so if you try that put a towel under your foot lol).

hello mommax6, I certainly do agree with being annoyed at people who post these DIY instructions for credits. I got this very one off their website a couple months ago and tried it, it's very cute and easy to do. I'm glad to see someone stand up for the ones who don't know they can get these for free! Kudos to you!!
Fanned you!

Thanks :) I understand offering DIY tutorials. there are some that just aren't that easy to find, unless you know exactly what you're looking for. But I figure if I can type it into Google and have the first 3 pages nothing but the exact instructions you need to do it, then it should be free for everyone.

I also tested this out before posting it. I didn't want to just copy/paste something from another person's blog. So after testing it, I just typed it up as I did it.

Watching :) it annoys me too to see people post things that others can easily google and find. Talk about being desperate for bids!

Agree with the DIY dealio- plenty of tutorials/recipes listed here are easy to find. The homemade recipes can be fun to bid on once in a while.

Yeah there are some homemade recipes I like to look at sometimes. But a lot of the DIY auctions are, as you said, easy to find.

Thanks :) I don't think I'll ever get my watchers badge. I just had another auction end with 40 watchers, and they yet again didn't give me my badge. It's so frustrating! But oh well, I'll still have this auction up because of it's actual purpose :) (to give away this free quick Google searched tutorial).

You're welcome! I was also amazed at how simple this was. I expected it to rub off, or for the nail polish to peel off with the newspaper. But it didn't. And it really was a quick process from start to finish. Longest/hardest part was being patient and letting the nail polish dry lol
