The listing, Heirloom Orange Trumpet "Hummingbird" Vine has ended.
100 SEEDS !!!
The Trumpet Vine, also known as the Hummingbird Vile, is a fast-growing deciduous vine that is amazingly hearty in Zones 4-10 (pretty much everywhere!). Easy to grow from seed or shoots.
Dark green foliage is the perfect backdrop for intensely bright clusters of trumpet-shaped flowers that attract hummingbirds by the swarm from May through September.
Plant seeds in pots to start, or sow directly into your garden (1/4" depth) once danger of frost has passed.
Very tolerant of many soil types, they do prefer to begin their long lives in a nice little area of mulched and weed-free rich nutrient soil, but quickly adapt once rooted. DO give these vines something to grow on! A fence covered with them is amazing, or plant them as they prefer in natural landscapes, where they will climb tree trunks without adverse effect. Definitely NOT recommended to climb a building, unless you want the building to quickly resemble a giant bush, covered in 20-40 foot vines! Full sun to partial shade. Trim it back when and if desired.
A VERY easy plant for the weekend gardener, and one certain to elicit the envy of your neighbors with showy foliage and flowers and the many hummingbirds attracted to its sweet nectar!
