Description

The listing, 1969 Topps baseball card lot w/ Tom House RC has ended.

Here's a lot of eight (8) vintage 1969 Topps baseball cards (NOT reprints). Please note that all of these are in "very good" condition (as in "ok, not great"). See pics to judge for yourself. Some dinged corners, a couple light creases, a pen mark, and other defects. But then again, these cards are 44 years old and are in pretty decent shape considering. Neat bit of history.

Braves Rookie Stars
Gil Garrido
Tom House
card #331
players: Tom House is most known for catching Hank Aaron's 715th home run in the Atlanta Braves bullpen.

Giants Rookie Stars
Cesar Gutierrez
Rich Robertson
card #16
player: GutiƩrrez is best known for setting a record for consecutive hits in an extra-inning game (6 singles and a triple).

Larry Miller (P, Baltimore Orioles)
card #323
player: This guy got a card in the set even though his final MLB appearance was in 1966. Crazy.

Ken Johnson (P, Braves)
card #238
player: The only pitcher to lose a nine-inning complete game no-hitter.

Bill Stoneman (P, Expos)
card #67
player: Threw no-hitters in both his first and last complete game.

Lew Krausse (P, Oakland A's)
card #23
player: Lew pitched 12 years in the majors, starting as the youngest player in the big leagues in 1961 and posting the AL's 9th best ERA in '66.

Houston Astros Rookie Stars
Hal Gilson
Leon McFadden
card #156
player: Hal started off his career not allowing a run in his first 6 appearances, but went downhill after that.

White Sox Rookie Stars
Bob Christian
Gerry Nyman
card #173
player: Bob's time was cut short when died of leukemia in 1974 at age 28. Nyman threw a shutout in his first career start, but couldn't continue that success.
