Black Beauty Eggplants produce large ovoid purple to black colored fruits with a cream colored flesh. Seeds remain soft unti the fruit starts to lose it's gloss.

All seeds are from the last fruit of the season. I left one on the plants to ripen fully, picked just before the frost. Plants were dug up then, and potted to hibernate the winter in my cold frame.

Black Beauty eggplants require full sun, warm tempertures, and moisture. 6 to 10 inch fruits are produced after large flowers, and can weigh the plant almost over.

Eggplants have hairy leaves, are around 3 feet tall, and are delicate perrenials that will not stand frost, but will continue to live if kept from freezing to produce for several years.
