I have 5 xbox 360 and 4 out of the 5 got red ring of death and i fixed them and they work just fine

the hard drive has nothing to do with the xbox working or not the hard drive is only used to store information you can play any game without a hard drive you just cant make a gammer tag or save any game info thanks for watching hope your bidding

@coachjd.....i had the 3 rings of death on mine a few years ago and it was out of warranty....i called them up and they gave me an RMA Number because since its a system error they were responsible for it.

Three rings is an e74 System error automatically covered by microsoft. no warranty is required to turn this in for and exchange for the console...

If I'm not mistaken, you are the person I won my XBOX 360 from. It had the same 3 red rings and I fixed it for less than $10 and no experience with an XBOX of any kind. I may have played one a few times, but I only won it to fix it because I ran out of things to tinker with. These consoles would have been great designs if they had more fans in them or some better alternative for a cooling system. There are two heat sinks and it is clearly not enough. It's really not hard to fix, so if anyone is considering this auction you should us GIN because it is a great deal!

** I also must note that this seller is dependable. I received my console super fast and you could not ask for a better deal when you do not have to pay shipping on an item that weighs about the same as a desktop computer. If I had the credits I would GIN it right now because I LOVE taking stuff apart and making broken things function.
