Description

The listing, 1969 Topps baseball card lot w/ Joe Lahoud RC has ended.

Here's a lot of eight (8) vintage 1969 Topps baseball cards (NOT reprints). I'd say these cards are in VG/NM condition. Clean fronts and backs, plus decent corners for cards that are 44 years old. No creases or any major flaws I see (although the Ferraro looks a little off). Some centering issues, but that's to be expected from old Topps cards.

WOODIE HELD (Inf-Outfield, White Sox) is the only player in major league history to appear in at least 100 games each at shortstop, second, third, center, left, and right field.

RON DAVIS (OF, Pirates) was the only major leaguer who came from Duke University in the 1960s, playing 5 years in the majors.

TY CLINE (OF, Expos) had a 12-year major league career and helped the Cincinnati Reds win the 1970 NL pennant when he pinch-hit a triple and was driven in by Pete Rose for the winning run.

RICK JOSEPH (3B, Phillies) was 1967 Pacific Coast League MVP with the San Diego Padres, but never did much in the majors.

Red Sox Rookie Stars
JOE LAHOUD played for 11 years and was a close friend of Carl Yastrzemski.
JOHN THIBDEAU had some good years in Boston's farm system, but never made the show.

CHUCK HARRISON (1B, Royals) didn't do much notable in the majors besides back up veteran Eddie Mathews at first in 1967.

MIKE FERRARO (3B, Pilots) didn't do much as a player, but would later spend several years coaching with the Yankees and Royals.

MAYO SMITH (MGR, Tigers) lead Detroit to their 1968 World Series championship.
