Questions & Comments
Could you tell me the scientific name of these? I know it sounds strange but certain geranium flower strains are great for mosquito repellent.
I really couldn't tell u sorry. But now that u mention it. I don't get bit by mosquitos in my front yard where I have them at but I do get bit in my backyard. Hmmmm I think ill grow some out back. Thank u
Thank u for asking. Untill u ask that question I had never thought why the mosquitas were bad in my back yard and not in the front. I will be sowing seeds in the back yard. To see if that's makes a differnce :)
Cool I didn't know that. But will have to try it. I got plenyty of geramiuns. I have let small groups of them come up in spots in my yard They reseed very easy. Plus I have them in my flower bed in front of my house.
With rich purple, butterfly-like blossoms that are about 20% larger than is usual for this family, Kashmir Purple has a built-in edge with gardens across the country. Add this plant's tendency to bloom heavily in the early summer, lightly during the hottest months and then again with vigor in the autumn and you have a winner by anyone's standards. Spreads quickly, but not aggressively, to fill in between other plants. Kashmir Purple is a variety that's especially popular in Europe and should be more widely grown here.
Highlights & Hints - Larger blooms offer even bigger impact. - Hardy geraniums are excellent for months of care-free garden color. - Remove spent blossoms after early summer bloom to encourage an encore performance. - Flexible stems make these great "weavers" to fill in around taller or stiffer plants.
