it's for a PC. I don't know what a wins 7 is. as far as I know it works. It was in a unit I bought. I guarantee everything so if it doesn't work, I will replace everything. I put it in my pc to see if it would work but it was taking too long to install and I had other stuff to do. I could let it install later maybe while I am sleeping if you are interested enough. just let me know
