The listing, Prickly Pear Cacti Seeds has ended.

A spoonful of Prickly Pear seeds, washed and dried. These will bloom yellow then when they turn purple, they can be eaten and you will have more seeds for planting. The pads are also edible and said to help with blood sugar problems. This plant has been used medicinally for centuries.

It grows very well even here in Tennessee!

Depending on where you live, the environment needs to be a dry warm climate and if those conditions are not optimal outside, they can be started inside.

Mine bloomed about a month ago and are now starting to turn purple when the fruit is ripe to eat (so good!). As they turn purple, I will gather more seeds for auction.

These will also multiply quite easily as they mature. They are twice as big as they were last year and so pretty!!

I do believe this is Nopal -- and we eat them in mexico -- and the fruit we call it tuna (but not tunafish -- that has a completely different name)
