The listing, 3 Rare and Collectible Michigan Postcards - 1930s-1950 has ended.
Great and valuable vintage postcards for collectors. These will add spice to any Michigan history collection.
These are scans of the actual postcards you'll receive. They are dated from 1930s to 1950s and are from a collection I put together back in the 1950s-1960s. The cards have been tucked away for decades, with only minor wear at the edges and slight yellowing. The Henry Ford Hospital (second image) has some insect damage along the white edge at the bottom of the card, but this doesn't show up in the scan and only affects a bit of the lawn image..
The First card is a linen textured card that is part of the Ford car company memorabilia from the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan. It depicts the tolling of the bell by Gog and Magog. The text on back says: The Jewelry shop of Sir John Bennett, one of three in the Village, which was once famous on Goldsmith's Row in London, lends an Old World Note to the predominantly American Village. The grotesque figures of Gog and Magog, legendary giants of London, toll the hour with their hammers. Published exclusively for the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan. Genuine Curteich Chicago "C.T. Art Colortone" Post card.
The second real photo card was made when the cost of sending a post card was 2 cents, and that was way before 1960! The text says: The Henry Ford Hospital Pine Knob Division is located approximately 30 miles to the north and west of the City of Detroit. Here an air of quiet restfulness prevails. The Natural scenic beauty of Pine Knob and the surrounding countryside makes a stay here one never to be forgotten.
The third real photo card is another that was made around the 1930s-1940s as well. Similar vintage Michigan cards sell for more than $20 each on ebay.
