The listing, World War II Pilots Ring has ended.
OK, here's the scoop on this ring........I've had it looked at by a couple of antique shops. They are telling me that it is a WWII pilots ring. And that the wings emblems in the center were usually 18KT gold and the ring is silver.
Now, I've not had it tested for gold or silver content. But I looked up pilots rings on the internet and that information is correct. The ring is quite worn, as you'd expect for a 68 year old ring, and it needs to be shined up, but if the wings emblem wasn't gold wouldn't they be worn off in a different color?
Still a great piece and VERY RARE to even find a pilots ring. I expect most were buried with their owners.
Oh, and inside the shank is stamped --------- MEXICO. I can't read the top word. Must be Mexican silver? sterling?
Anyway, it's a pretty cool ring. I'm gonna guess size 9. Happy bidding!
